Cherry Grove Cares
It all started in 1995, when a small group of women held a benefit for a friend that was diagnosed with breast cancer. One year later, they decided to expand and host a benefit on Fire Island. They have now successfully done so every summer since. To date, Cherry Grove Cares (formerly the Concerned Women of the Grove) has raised over $1.2 million for SHARE, Stonybrook Breast Cancer Center, and Red Door Community (formerly Gilda’s Club NYC) – all dedicated to improving cancer care. Since 1999, Cherry Grove Cares has donated nearly $500,000 to Red Door Community.
