Airbnb, The Cancer Support Community (CSC) and Red Door Community affiliates have partnered to provide free temporary housing for cancer patients and caregivers who are travelling over 50 miles for treatment, provided they meet certain geographic and income criteria through Airbnb’s Open Homes program.
Many people need to travel for medical reasons, and too often the cost of temporary accommodations can be a major barrier to accessing life-saving treatment. Having free, short-term housing can help ease a patient’s financial concerns, while giving them the hope and energy they need to overcome illness. Open Homes lets hosts offer their space for free to people going through a difficult time.
