Family Support

A cancer diagnosis impacts more than the patient, it affects family and friends of the patient too. At Red Door Community we offer support for the entire family and support network of a cancer patient. Support for families, caregivers and loved ones is critical with any cancer experience and can help patients and their families and friends:

  • Communicate clearly with your health care team
  • Talk with family and friends and adjust to changes
  • Find resources and help you deal with changes to your work, career, and finances
  • Make important decisions
  • Consider what comes after you or your loved one finish treatment

Support Circle

From the moment of cancer diagnosis, family and friends are impacted. Your loved ones have concerns – but just what are they? How to handle them? Red Door Community invites you to bring together your network to create a Support Circle – to focus on utilizing your strengths and making life with cancer work for everyone. All Support Circle sessions are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals.

It is a profound truth that while many of us are brought together for the same reason, we are all very different people. We respond to stress, illness, and death in our own unique ways. Your mission statement—that “no one should have to face cancer alone”—is a beacon for us all.

I have personally benefited from your efforts and am deeply proud to be associated with this organization.

The Red Door has been a ray of light in the darkest moments of my life.

Red Door Community provides excellent support, breaks isolation, and reduces fears.
