Cancer affects more than your body, it can change how you sleep, how much energy you have, how you feel emotionally, and your overall quality of life. Fatigue and sleep disturbances are among the most common challenges people experience during and after cancer treatment, yet they are often overlooked or dismissed as something you simply have to live with.

At Red Door Community, we believe that education is a powerful form of support. Learning why these symptoms occur and knowing there are evidence-based strategies to manage them can help people feel more informed, empowered, and better equipped to navigate life during and after cancer.

In the video above, watch Living Fully: Managing Fatigue, Sleep, and Quality of Life During and After Cancer, an educational presentation by Dr. Alexandria Muench, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Staff Psychologist at Penn Medicine Princeton Health.

Designed for anyone impacted by cancer including people in treatment, post-treatment, caregivers, family members, and friends, this session will explore the connection between sleep, fatigue, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Participants will gain practical, evidence-based strategies to better understand these challenges and discover ways to improve their daily well-being.

During this presentation, participants will learn how to:

  • Understand that quality of life during and after cancer goes beyond physical health and includes sleep, energy, emotional well-being, and the ability to participate in everyday life.
  • Recognize that fatigue and sleep disturbances are among the most common and most treatable quality of life concerns for people living with cancer.
  • Explore practical, evidence-based strategies that can help improve sleep, manage fatigue, and enhance overall well-being through small, meaningful changes.
