Tender Love and Care (TLC) is a not-for-profit website and catalog of the American Cancer Society. Their mission is to help women cope during and after cancer treatment by providing wigs and other hair loss products (plus how-to information), as well as mastectomy products, all at affordable prices. TLC donates many new wigs (and other items) through the local ACS offices and wigs are also donated by manufacturers and boutiques. Contact your local ACS office or call the number listed above to see if an office near you participates in this free wig program. TLC is open 24/7.
Cancer Care Wig and Breast Prosthesis Clinics

Breast Prosthesis Clinic: The Prosthesis Clinic provides women with breast cancer who have had a mastectomy the opportunity to receive mastectomy supplies free of charge. During an individual 30-minute fitting, women can try on mastectomy bras and breast prostheses with assistance from a trained fitter. An oncology social worker is also present to provide support. They are able to provide two mastectomy bras and a breast prosthesis free of charge. It is recommended that clients wait at least six weeks post-surgery to allow for proper healing.
Wig Clinic: The Wig Clinic provides women with any type of cancer who are receiving chemotherapy the opportunity to receive a free wig. During an individual 30-minute fitting, women have the opportunity to try on different wigs with assistance from a wig fitter. An oncology social worker is also present to provide support. Basic wig care is discussed, although they do not have the capacity to cut or style wigs themselves. Good Wishes provides an It’s a Wrap© or Good Wishes square scarf to anyone experiencing the thinning or loss of hair as a result of illness or treatment at no cost. Available for adults (both male and female) and children. Good Wishes ships nationwide at no cost, and international shipping for a minimal fee.
