American Cancer Society- Hope Lodge

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Jerome L. Greene Family Center offers lodging at no cost for cancer patients being treated in Manhattan. Housing is on a first come first serve basis for cancer patients in the midst of treatment who do not live in the area. For individuals 18 years or older, in active treatment (chemo, surgery, radiation, etc.), and who have an hour or longer commute to their treatment center. To be placed, a social worker or physician from the hospital the individual is receiving treatment at has to call the Hope Lodge to put in a request. After this, a representative will contact the individual with information regarding their stay and if there are rooms available. The number listed above is for the hotline, caller has to indicate that they are looking for information regarding the Hope Lodge.

Joe’s House is not an actual house, but a nonprofit organization that helps cancer patients and their families find a place to stay when traveling away from home for medical treatment.
