Since 2015, Red Door Community has partnered with Theatre Within, to bring a wide variety of workshops in the creative arts and mindfulness to our members.

Among the current offerings is the new Unsent Letters Workshop, led by writer and creative coach GG Renee Hill, who champions letter writing to jumpstart a writing practice. “It gives your thoughts and feelings a direction, a person to speak to,” says GG. “Often in the process of writing to that person, it leads you to the things that your heart really needs to say, things that you really need to explore that you’ve maybe never said out loud or directly.”

In each interactive session, GG invites participants to dive into the process by thinking of someone, anyone, they have unfinished business with. And then to consider two simple questions: “What’s been left unsaid? What do you want them to know?”

GG’s core instruction: Write the letter and let it all out. From there, as she notes, you have options: “You can rip it up, burn it, keep it, whatever.” That’s the beauty of letter writing,” says GG. “It offers the gift of catharsis even if the letter remains unsent.”

The Unsent Letters Workshops are available to Red Door Community members who can register through our member portal!
