Gilda’s Club NYC is delighted to announce that we will honor Vanessa Bayer, 
actress, writer, and comedian with The Gilda Radner Award at our 24th Annual Benefit Gala on November 7th. The Gilda Radner Award is our tribute to Gilda Radner, her comedic genius and her legacy of helping others living with cancer. This award is presented to a woman who embodies both her spirit and her comedic talent.
Vanessa Bayer is an Emmy-nominated actress, writer and comedian, known for her seven seasons on Saturday Night Live, and for films such as Trainwreck, Office Christmas Party, and Netflix’s Ibiza. Soon she will be appearing in TV shows including Brooklyn 99 and Will & Grace. Vanessa is a cancer survivor and an advocate for people impacted by cancer. Her personal journey with cancer inspired her comedy career and most recently, her new children’s book, “How Do You Care for a Very Sick Bear” which came out in June 2019.
Kenan Thompson, friend of Vanessa’s and current SNL cast member, will present the Gilda Radner Award to Vanessa. Thompson is an American actor and comedian and is the longest-tenured cast member in SNL’s history.
