Appreciation is an interesting word, and it can represent so many perspectives and degrees of sentiment. We appreciate your interest in reading this blog, and we appreciate the donations we receive to support our efforts. We appreciate working at an organization whose mission is to help people and we appreciate all the people who make it happen. We also appreciate the people who trust us enough to come to us for help and become a part of the community that gives others that same opportunity.

Everyone should experience the feeling that arises when someone makes a donation to say, “yes, I believe in what you are doing and I want to help” or when one of our members expresses their gratitude, often through smiles or tears, for what Red Door Community means to them. Today, we are taking a moment to appreciate the appreciation.

As we come out of the holiday with a designed intention of recognizing the things and the people for which we are thankful, only to face the immediate money grabs of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday, we thought it best to simply say thank you to all those who have been a part of our organization, in one way or another, over the last 30 years.

Do we need donations and financial support that makes our work possible?

Absolutely! And you can do that here, but without a good “thank you” once in a while, the word “please” can start to ring hollow.

So, thank you for everything.
