Every year, Red Door Community’s Annual Benefit Gala brings people together for an unforgettable evening. Guests gather to celebrate, connect, and support a shared belief: no one should have to face cancer alone. Yet the Gala’s impact extends far beyond a single night. It helps sustain a welcoming community where people living with cancer, their loved ones, caregivers, and those grieving a loss can find free emotional and social support. Hosted by comedian Dena Blizzard and with special guest, comedian and cancer survivor, Missy Hall, the night promises to be fun and impactful!
Turning Generosity into Meaningful Support
Red Door Community provides its programs and services completely free of charge, making philanthropy essential to its mission. Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, auction bid placed, and donation made helps keep these vital resources accessible to anyone impacted by cancer. The Gala also creates space for members, supporters, volunteers, partners, and friends to come together around a common purpose. Personal stories shared during the evening offer a powerful reminder that behind every program is a person seeking understanding, reassurance, and connection.
Honoring Leadership and Inspiring Action
Every year, we shine a light on people whose leadership, service, and personal stories embody Red Door Community’s mission. This year, we are proud to recognize Saranne Rothberg with our Community Spotlight Award for her leadership through the founding of ComedyCures and the Beating Cancer Daily podcast; honor Jim Hawley with the Key to the Red Door Award for his commitment to supporting Red Door Community’s mission; and welcome Alphus “Slim” Willock as our Member Speaker to share his inspirational story. Together, their contributions show how generosity, compassion, and the courage to share one’s experience can strengthen an entire community.
An Invitation to Open Our Red Door
When we come together at the Gala, we do more than attend an event. We help create moments of connection for someone who feels alone, trusted guidance for someone seeking answers, and a caring community for a family navigating uncertainty. That is why this evening matters and why every person who participates has the power to make a meaningful difference.
